Racing to Save Lives

Welcome

to my Team In Training home page.

I've Lost my mind! I've decided to do 1/2 marathon in Oct by

participating in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia &

Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In

Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin

lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of my Father who passed from Cancer and in honor or a little boy named Mitch. At the age of 8, Mitchell was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. He valiantly battled for 26 months. Despite the pain of his treatments, Mitchell never quit. However, the cancer eventually gained the upper hand and Mitchell went to be with Jesus at the age of 10 years and 4 months. His last words were, Keep Fighting - the theme that his family had adopted since his initial diagnosis.

Mitchell's Mom, Tracey, is a friend of my niece, Stephanie. Stephanie asked me to join them this year in the marathon. I feel led to do this. I'm not a runner, but I'm compelled to walk/jog 13.1 miles to help raise money for LLS

Please make a

donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.

If you make a donation in honor of someone who has had one of these diseases, please make sure I get their name. I will have all names put on my jersey for the marathon.

Also, I need all contributions by Aug 10, because that is when I have to sign recomitment papers. If I don't have 100% of my goal, I have to make the difference!

I hope you will visit my web site often.

Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your

support!

If you'd rather write a personal check, you can make it to LLS and mail it to me, 9306 Utica Dr, Lubbock, TX 79424

I will get it to LLS. It is still tax deductible!

Thanks

Carrie

"Carrie - Thank you for all you and your team are doing in the fight against cancer. Since AML was Jo Paul's diagnosis, we have a particular interest in the research that is being done to eliminate all blood cancers. Thank you!"
