A few weeks ago Mentor Andrea and I planned a very special training for our participants...a training extravaganza! It was to celebrate how far they'd come and to remind everyone (ourselves included) exactly why we're doing this. It was absolutely AMAZING! There were tears, laughs, celebrations, and moments that were unforgettable. Many TNT alumni and board members came out to celebrate our current participants and help pull it all off...a BIG thank you to them!

Part of the route included a Mission Mile right before the finish (they did max mileage that day) lined with the many faces of our honored heroes...some gone from us now, some still fighting, and some in remission. It was quite moving, not only to us, but to fellow runners and walkers who happened to be out that morning.

Pictured above is me with my honored hero, Joe Henley, who lost his battle with leukemia a few years ago after only being diagnosed 5 days prior. That is absolutely unacceptable to me...there should have been something available to give him a chance to fight it, but there wasn't. That's exactly why I continue to fight and raise money, so new treatments and drugs will be discovered to help find a cure and gove those fighting a chance to beat cancer!

Please consider getting involved in this battle...we need you! You can simply volunteer at your local chapter, help out with training on Saturdays, or better yet...SIGN UP to join us on Saturday mornings and complete an event with TNT!! Meanwhile, you could always make a quick and easy secure online donation right here...just click the "DONATE NOW" button to your right and help save lives!

Fresh from a perfectly princess TNT event weekend at Disney World, I'm more motivated than EVER to find a CURE!

We are in full swing training for the Mayor's Half Marathon in Anchorage, AK and I am less than $1000 from my fundraising goal. I need YOUR help to get there and all the patients and their families need YOUR help, too. The more money we raise the more money LLS devotes to cancer research and patient aid, and that is an amazing thing to be a part of. I'll do the hard part...run more than 200 miles in preparation for the race, and you can do the most important part...click the "DONATE NOW" button to your left and make a life-saving donation today! Thank you!!

With your help my fundraising efforts are going famously! With a benchmark year for Angel Fudge I got much closer to my goal...I sold almost $1,500 in fudge and cookies this year with $1,200 going directly to LLS! Sweet success! Thank you for placing your orders and to those who came and helped me in the kitchen (Mom, Rhonda, and Patrice).

Now, onto the next big fundraiser...I'm not sure exactly what that will be yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I do!

Training has been spotty, at best, but I am ready to get in gear! I'm back on the ol' exercise train after a very hectic and exhausting fall and it feels good (and not so good all at the same time).

Despite all the fundraisers I do...I STILL ACCEPT & ENCOURAGE OUTRIGHT DONATIONS! So, please consider making a secure tax-deductible donation right now...it's real easy...just click the "DONATE NOW" button to your left and follow the prompts...it will feel great, I promise!

As always, thank you for your continued support and contributions!

In 2011 we saw:

  • LLS drive research in particular areas where patients have desperate needs for more effective treatments, particularly patients with relapsed refectory myeloma.
  • LLS fund Dr. Carl June, M.D., who genetically engineered immune cells to be better cancer fighters, producing remissions for patients whom standard therapies never worked.
  • LLS create strategic partnerships with companies like Avila therapeutics to advance a new therapy showing great promise for patients with lymphoid cancers.

These and other promising advances and initiatives would not have been possible without your continued support. You are helping achieve our vision: a world without blood cancers.

Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.

Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
