Racing to Save Lives
Welcome friends. I need your help to reach my goal this year. I'm training for the 2010 cyling event - 100 miles around Lake Tahoe - on June 6 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers as well as my daughter Olivia's best friend Sarah (pictured above with Livi) who is a survivor and my good friend DeeDee Dixon Rund (pictured above) who has recently been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Lymphoma is currently in treatment. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
Thanks for your support!

Since I broke my left arm on March 16th I have been training solo by sprint walking, running, pilates and riding my bike on the trainer indoors. YUCK. I can't wait to get back on the road! My cast came off last week and I'm in a brace for at least one more week. I miss my Team! I'm not worried though. I know I can catch up as long as I get my fundraising done.

The ride is getting close! I've done two 30 mile rides in crazy wind in the last two weeks (since Dr. said it was okay to get back on my bike). Still running and training on the stationery bike, etc. This weekend I plan to ride 70 miles with the team. Wahoo!

Can you believe it? It's true. Yesterday I slipped, put my arm down to break my fall and hurt my arm. UUUUUggggggg. This is a nightmare.

Just saw my doctor. It's official, my arm is definitely broken. Again. Don't laugh. It's not funny. :(

I can't believe the ride is so close. It breaks my heart that I cannot ride my bike. I know that raising the funds to cure cancer is the most important thing. It still makes me sad that I cannot ride with my Team, doctors orders.
Special thanks to my friend Creighton Gary who is going to ride in my place. Thank you. Thank you, Gary. I will be along for the ride to support my team in any way I can. Thanks to all my friends and family for your support with both donations and encouragement.
