In 3 weeks

In 3 weeks January 2013 will be more than half over. In 3 weeks I will have crossed the finish line of my first half-marathon, completing a 2012 resolution to become active for a great cause. Cancer has not quit so we fight on. During this training seasonwith Team in Training I've met some amazing people, I have raised money for a charity close to my heart and I've been able to encourage cancer fighters to keep fighting. It's organizations like Team in Training that instill hope in the fight against cancer. They raise money for research, accelerate like saving drugs and procedures thru the FDA red tape in order to save lives now. You help one form of cancer and many times that benefits the search for a cure for many different forms of cancer. Thank you to all of you that helped me reach my goal of $1700 raised over the past 3 months. As of right now I am just $82 away from the goal. THat's amazing!
Many have sent me names of loved ones that have fought cancer in the past or are right in the middle of it now. I have many names to add to my jersey on race day. I started this season running for my Grandad Joe Moine, I finish this season with a list of names of loved ones that I am running in their honor.Looking forward to race day and 2013!!
Happy New Year!!

Today we ran 12 miles and dedicated our run to Todas, a friend of my co-worker fighting leukemia right now.
The week I signed up for Team in Training I was excited to tell everyone I knew what I had signed up for. I was in turn told of this news . Another reminder that cancer affects us all. Todas has fought through one round of chemo and was sent home to recouperate. Instead of being able to rest it was soon found that he needed his appendix out. Then it was back to the hospital for another round of chemo. In the meantime his team of doctors are looking for a bone marrow donor that is a good match, none has been found as of yet. We are praying for a match to be found and that is ready and willing to be a donor. Friends and family are hosting another bone marrow match drive the first week of January. I'm already registered but please go to bethematch.org to get a free swab kit sent to you free of charge to register, or stay tuned for details on the next bone marrow drive for Tasos. Being cancer free is one the greatest gift one can give, so go register....just do it!!
Happy to be able to encourage someone else to fight on, even if I don't know them yet. Keep fighting Tasos, we believe in you and know you are going to beat this!!! From your friends at Team in Training Orange County. (and me )
Just a few more weeks!!

Dear Family and Friends,
2012 is almost over and the holidays are upon us! I know I can't believe it either. We've had ups and downs like everyone else. I am still working for Dr's Moody, Cummings, Balasanian and Caputo. Carl is continuing to build the electrical contractor business, CEB Electric that we started less than 2 years ago. 2012 did have some new things like Joseph starting kindergarten, Devon starting high school, Sierra signed up for a missions trip to Russia, Joshua conquered potty training (hurray!!) and we have a new home address, still in Mission Viejo though.
Some of you know that I am training to run a half marathon on Jan 20th 2013.
I am running in honor of my Grandad Joe Moine who died of leukemia 6 year ago. He lived an amazing life and was loved by so many. He was active and generous, patient and kind. All that knew him misses him especially this time of year.
I run for my Grandad but I also am running for the countless others that are diagnosed everyday. The week I signed up for Team in Training one of my co-workers good friends was diagnosed with leukemia. Last year when I first heard about Team in Training I had learned that another co-workers father was beginning a battle with lymphoma. I run in honor of both of these cancer fighters, and I run in support of finding a cure. Weekly at our team practices we listen to inspirational speakers that have either battled with the disease personally or have had a close loved one affected. We have runners in remission, parents of young children that have finished treatment and inevitably we have many that run for those that did not survive. Even in everyday conversations I've had with friends, aquaintances, and complete strangers (that ask me what my Team in Training running shirt stands for) EVERYONE has been affected by cancer. It's heartbreaking but not without hope.
This is where your support is needed. In order to run this race I have committed to raise at least $1700. Each tax deductible donation helps accelerate finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Nearly 958,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. I am hoping that my participation in Team In Training will help bring them hope and support.
I am writing this letter to you hoping you will join me in "Running Down Cancer One Mile At A Time."
In addition if there is a family or friend that you miss because cancer took them too soon please forward their name or picture. Our team and I would be honored to run in their memory also.
The easiest way to donate is online quickly and securely using the web address below plus it is also a link to my online blog to learn more about my progress. You will receive a confirmation of your donation by email and I will be notified as soon as you make your donation.
If you prefer to write a check make it out to LLS or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Mail it back to me at The Beach's 25292 Arcadian Ave. Mission Viejo CA 92691, and I will get it there.
On behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thank you very much for your support. I greatly appreciate your generosity. Have a Merry Christmas or a Happy Holiday I’m looking forward to a great 2013!
P.S. Help me reach my goal by donating by Dec 31st, any little bit really helps. Thanks Again!!

Ran 10 Miles Today!
Yes I'm tired but I just keep thinking about all the people I'm running for and for LLS- The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society that helps support cancer patients through their treatment. Saving lives, extending lives and preserving quality of life, that's something to run for. Please if you feel the urge to give to this great cause please do so I'm almost half-way to my goal and am so excited and grateful!
