I love you Mom and Jen!

Hi! Billy and I are training to do the Tour De Palm Springs, a 100 mile bike ride through the desert, all to support Team in Training; an organization raising money for blood cancers; leukemia, lymphoma and Hodgkins Disease.

As you probably already know, Hodgkins Disease and non-Hodgkins Lymphoma have both severly affected my life. My mom, my best friend, one of my strongest supporters and the person who has given me the all the things I am the most thankful for today battled and defeated Hodgkins Disease when I was very young. My brother and I were very lucky to have a mother in remission, for many years. She is now living and shopping with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. On the day of my race, I know my struggle through the 100 miles will be nothing like what she battles on a daily basis.

In addition, one of my very best friends fought and defeated Hodgkins Disease while we were in college. Despite wigs, prunes and bad days during treatment, Jennifer (Eggers) Perreault is one of the strongest women I know; she even went to college classes in between chemo sessions!

This race means much more to me than just an endurance challenge, it is a dedication to the people who enriched my life and battled so much more than a 100 miles in the desert will ever bring.

Thus, I ask you to donate to this cause, not just for these very important people in my life, but for everyone else who has these same everyday battles with blood cancers. The money raised for research as well as patient counseling and support groups is invaluable. Your donation will bring help to many cancer patients out there!
