Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in a triatholon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I am completing this event in honor of Kaitlyn, a four year old girl in my daughter's preschool class who was diagnosed with Leukemia on April 29, 2006 and thankfully, took her last chemo pill two and a half years later, on August 18, 2008. She is now in remission and attending preschool. This is a picture of her half way through her treatment. She is doing great now and continues to be montiored at Children's Hospital each month. I know that training for a .62 mile swim, an 18 mile bike ride, and a 6 mile run will be hard, but when I think of how hard this sweet child fought at 2, 3, and 4 years of age, I know the work is worth it.
