Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
As many of you know in February 2002, my older sister, Gayle, was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). She underwent several rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and stem cell infusions. I was her stem cell donor. After eight months of fighting this disease, on October 23, 2002, she lost her battle.
I have become quite active with raising money for finding a cure for this disease. I participated in my first event at the Light the Night walk for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in October 2002.
Since then I have participated in many half marathons and even completed my first marathon in June of 2008. I have done this to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help find a cure for this awful disease.
I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
I am raising money for this very important cause and I'm asking you to help by making a contribution! Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. You can make your tax-deductible donation here with a credit card, by using the secure link in this email. You will receive email confirmation of your donation and I will be notified as soon as you make your donation. Or you can contact me and you can send a check made out to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) to my house.
I thank you in advance for your support, and really appreciate your generosity!!
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
