Racing for Team "Gubben" Pain

Welcome to our Team In Training home page.

We are Gubben's cousins from Finaland and Belli (Isabel) and Mimma (Madeleine) Gubben's mom and aunt are training to participate in an endurance event, The Nike Women's Half Marathon, on October 18th, 2009 in San Francisco, CA as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. As part of Team In Training, they are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

They are completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, but specifically Alexander Pain "Gubben", our cousin, who was diagnosed with Leukemia (ALL) in October 2008 at the age of 4.

About 5,430 people in the United States were diagnosed with ALL in 2008. It is the most common type of leukemia in children under the age 15.

Participating in this race is a great way to show support to the Society in return for all the care and love Gubben has received so far from Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), family, friends, colleagues and others in his battle to recover from this life threatening disease.
