Racing to Save Lives

Swim! Bike! Run! Find a cure! It's an ambitious goal, but it can be done.... with your help. Dear friends and family, I am competing in a triathlon and need your support.

I'm training to participate in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon on September 12, 2009. I will swim 0.9 mile, bike 24.8 miles, and run 6.2 miles.... yes, one right after each other, without any breaks at the beer garden. I decided to do this as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training to focus my effort toward a worthy cause. We are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

This is an opportunity for us all to make a difference and help those in need. Many of us are touched by cancer at some point in our lives. As I train, it can be hard to dive into frigid water... it can hurt to bike and run for hours... it can be difficult just to get off the couch. But I persevere because there are those at this very moment that are battling for their lives. I hope that you will join me in this fight.
