My Fundraising Page May 05, 2010 by Karen Castelblanco: Racing to Save Lives

I'm training to participate in the Disney half marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

This cancer has taught me about strength and courage, and marathons teach me about patience and perseverence. The lesson is to continue and never give up, to face the challenges and endure the difficult moments, to do whatever I can, to get to the finish line--a world where cancer no longer exists.

We can't do this alone. We need your help to meet our goal.

Please make a donation today to support critical research and the development of better treatments, and eventually a cure, for blood cancers. Every amount gets us that much closer to the finish line and provides hope to those fighting for their lives.
