How far have we come? How far will I go?
In 2008 we raised an extraordinary $11,895 and then I ran 26.2 miles.
In 2009 we raised an amazing $6,123 and then I swam .9 miles, biked 25 miles and ran 6.2 miles.
That's a total of $18,018 and 58.3 miles (not including all of the training miles!) - all to help in the fight against cancer.
For 2010? How about we try to make it an even $25,000 (or more) and I'll do this:
swim 1.2 miles
bike 56 miles
run 13.1 miles
That's right, I've committed to completing the Wildflower Triathlon again, but this time I'm shooting for the Half Ironman. And all I need from you is a little help.
I'm once again training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training.
In case you hadn't heard, almost one year ago I started working for LLS and Team in Training and I have become even more inspired to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I have met so many wonderful people - wonderful people who have been unfairly touched by cancer. So this one is for all of you, and all of them - those that are winning the battle, and those that have not been so lucky.
Training hasn't been easy. But lately, each time I start to doubt whether or not I'll be able to do this, I remind myself that it's more about the mission than the miles. It's about finding a cure for all cancers. The money you've helped me raise continues to get us closer to the day when permanent remission will be a reality for all those who've been diagnosed.
Rembember, no donation is too small (or too large!) Donate online now or send me an email if you'd rather send a check. kmadison212@mac.com
