HERE WE GO AGAIN!! WINTER SEASON 2010 DISNEY!!

WELCOME to my Team in Training home page for

ALL THINGS WENDY this winter season training and fundraising!!

Woo WOO!

I have done it again! Committed to training for another 6 Months with Team in Training and this time, hold onto your hats....

Wendy will be taking on the GOOFY Challenge in Walt Disney World on January 8th and 9th 2011!

PUG-LOVE!!!

We sat down with Wendy Link and this is what she shared with us:

Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH TNT?

A: I am kind of a Newbie to TNT! My first season and event was just this past summer 2010 when I trained and ran my first half marathon ever in San Diego on June 6th, 2010with a finishing time of 2:33!! It was a fantastic experience and I raised a total of $3,065.00 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! It was an amazing finish line to cross (to say the least)! Nothing can compare to the feeling of pride you get after reaching your farthest goals ever set for yourself!

Q: AWESOME!! SO, WHAT IS A GOOFY CHALLENGE?

A: The Goofy challenge is when you run 13.1 miles on Saturday January 8th and then run 26.2 miles on Sunday January 9th! Totaling 39.3 miles in 2 days!

Q: ARE YOU CRAZY??

A: Maybe a little ;) It ain't called Goofy for nothing ;) But I am committed to the challenge and inspired by my coaches who run farther distances then that at each event weekend! I am determined, and I am also floating on the wings of certain teammates personal and all too familiar battles with Leukemia and Lymphoma. I would be honored to run for the lives lost and the lives we can save with this amazing Challenge!

Q: ARE YOU INVOLVED WITH TNT IN ANY OTHER WAYS THIS SEASON??

A: Yes, not only am working hard to reach my fundraising goals, train for Goofy but I am also a mentor this season!

Q: REALLY!?!? A MENTOR! WOW, WHAT DOES THAT ENTAIL?

A: Being a mentor means I will have a group of Mentees assigned to me that I will share the past experiences I have had with TNT as they take on the journey for themselves! I will hopefully inspire them to be as fond and proud of the work they do this season as I was during the summer season! I hope that they get hooked like me, and continue to come back and inspire millions of people that will be affected by their efforts! Their friends and families will truly be amazed by all the hard work and dedication they are giving of themselves to reach the LLS mission and find a cure for blood cancers!

Q: WHY DID YOU ORIGINALLY JOIN TNT?

A: I was looking for an organization like LLS, and never knew it existed! Finally! I found it!

As an athlete, you gain 100% knowledge of 'wise' training and you accomplish so much more then you would ever believe your physical or mental strength could take you!

As a human being, the support you and your teammates raise in dollars and in awareness for Blood cancer research is never ending! I originally wanted to get with the program and see what it was all about, it was after my first info session when I realized the scope of the medical research that LLS has been able to do because of the funds raised by the athletes of TNT! The money TNT has raised has allowed medical research of drugs that can now be used not only to aide cures for blood cancers, but other types of cancer as well. My mother pictured above is a 2-time Breast cancer SURVIVOR, and I have had 5 women in my grandmother and mother's generations who have battled breast cancer.

I do this for them! For the women who I can say I would run and walk millions of miles in their shoes and do whatever it takes to find a cure.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's and my mission.

CONSIDER THIS:

DONATE $15.00:

In 1999 the average American spent $165.00 per year on coffee, which is a little under $3.50 a week. Multiply that times 4 weeks and you have spent $14 on average on coffee, something that most American offices give to you for free, just for showing up everyday! Are you willing to drink the stuff that tastes like dirt for one month to help me save a life?

DONATE $50:

That will cover the cost to register 1 person to be a bone marrow donor.

DONATE $100:

It will pay for the cost of 4 patient's chemotherapy drug prescription co-payments.

DONATE $300:

That will train 25 peer volunteers who can provide emotional support to newly diagnosed patients. A service that is priceless to a person who has just heard the devastating words "You have cancer, you have a 60% chance of living"....

DONATE $500:

It will provide patient aid to a person with Leukemia or a related cancer for a year.

DONATE $1000:

Which allows patients to meet with health care specialists to design and discuss their disease, treatment plan and prepare them with the info they will need during the treatment process?

Please make a donation (which is 100% tax deductible) to support Team in Training and help advance LLS's mission. ANY amount is greatly appreciated!

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

Much Love and Graciousness!!
