As many of you know, I started running about three years ago in an endeavour to change my lifestyle for the better. Though it took a lot of effort, I eventually went from being a couch potato to an athlete and surpassed all of the expectations I ever had for myself when I completed my first marathon in October of 2009! Not only that, but I did it with a time of 3:35:11, which qualified me for the Boston Marathon. Unfortunately due to two pelvic stress fractures, I had to defer my entry for a year but am trying to get back into the swing of things by training for the Walt Disney Marathon this season. I mean, what better location than the place where dreams come true, right?

Through Team In Training, I will be collecting money to be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. I have worked in quite a number of labs whose work has been funded by LLS and so I know that the money donated goes to good use and directly to both patient care and to finding a cure for cancer.
