Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I am participating in Marthon Des Sables, a 6 stage, 7-day running race, covering over 150 miles through the Sahara.

You can think that the privation and suffering of being in the desert is an analogy for the suffering that patients undergoing chemotherapy go through, but I assure you it is probably nothing close to what they must endure to survive. In the end, it is at least my choice to be there. Those that acquire Leukemia or Lymphoma or any cancer do not have a choice in the matter.

Since this is the biggest physical challenge I have ever undertaken ( consider, I have now done 3 Ironmen), I am setting my fund raising challenge equally high == $50,000.

What do you get out of a donation besides feeling great that your dollars may actually be the last needed to defeat the disease?

Well, I am running in honor of my dad, Willy Axt, who passed from cancer in 1995 and as usual, I will also run in honor of those of you that donate that have friends or family that have suffered from any cancer.

I know times are tough but please make any donation to help advance LLS's mission. Leukemia, Lymphoma and other cancers are non-partisan, are not prejudice, nor do they care if the economy is doing well or not. In some ways, now more than ever, your dollars are needed.

Corporate donations have been off, so making my fund raising goal of $50k is going to be hard. Once again it is down to us individuals to make a difference.
