Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
So i'm doing the San Diego Half Marathon with Team FInish Line, and I couldn't be more excited! Last year I was in training for the NYC Marathon but unfortunately I ended up injured and even though the marathon did not happen, I wasn't able to run. So I decided to go for a shorter route and do the San Diego Half Marathon.
As some of you know, i've been a dancer all my life so determination and hardwork is what I give to the things I want, but two years ago I had an accident that kind of jumbled up my life a little bit and put me through some struggles I didn't think I would go through. Since then I have been determined to get back to the fitness level I had once been at, and go back to dancing. So, what better way to get yourself back in the groove with great people like Team in Training and Finish Line, why wouldn't I be able to just do it!
One of the main reason's for doing this race is for my boss Michael Conlons cousin's 9-year-old daughter, Sophia. She was just recently diagnosed and I couldn't imagine anything tougher to go through at that age. So in honor of her I will be running this race and raising as much as possible for her and for others in the same situation!
I've watch a few friends' parents, and friends' aunts or uncles go through chemotherapy and it was a rough time. Not only for that individual but for the whole family as well. Luckily and thankfully the ones that I've known have gone through everything successfully and have made it through. However there are some in this world that don't always get that turn around.
