Racing to Save Lives


I am running a marathon to help raise money to help end blood cancer!


I am not only running this race for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, but also as a dedication to my daughter, Auset, my mother Brenda Lawrence, and to my grandmothers, Louise Rogers and Irene Williams, to symbolize the strength and determination being passed on through the generations of our society. And for my uncle Orrie Jones, who has Multiple Sclerosis, and although this fundraiser is for blood cancer, I am running in the spirit of finding cures for ALL diseases including MS.


I need to raise at least $4200 to be able to participate, so I need your help. I will be doing the hard part by running 26.2 miles, and you can help with the easy part by donating as much money as you can :-)

My updates:

February 4 - Start training for Marathon

February 21 - First 5K run EVER! Time: 35.48

March 18 - Trained on Hills in Prospect Park

March 19 - Juice-A-Thon fundraiser (www.culinaryhealing.com)

March 21 - Ran 10 miles!!!

March 31 - Ran 12 miles ( a couple of days late, but I still made it)

April 4 - RAN 14 MILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

April 18 - Ran 15 miles - from Ave C to Coney Island to one end of the boardwalk and back, then back up ocean ave to ave C. Stopped for a snickers bar and some high fructose corn syrup 1/2 way through! lol

Apr 19 - Yardsale Fundraiser! made lots of $$, but need lot's more. Donate now :-)

May 2 - Ran 18.5 miles! - ooooh the pain!

May 7 - Juice-a-thon fundraiser

May 9 - Ran 20 MILES! OMG

May 10 - Fundraiser yardsale
