Hi Friends and Family,

As many of you know, I've done a lot of crazy things to raise money. I've dressed up as an Auntie Anne's pretzel AND a moose AND in several onesies. I've danced with 2,000 students for 24 hours each year of college. I've canned at EVERY Carolina football game. And my senior year, I raised $483,210 with 13 of my best friends. Now I am going to add a 10K to the mix!

I recently started working at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in NYC. My experience has been amazing so far! One of their national fundraisers is the Team in Training Program, which trains individuals with a variety of running experiences for 10ks, triathalons, marathons, etc. all while raising money for cancer research. I've never really loved running, but I know this will be fun with a group of passionate people from work.

In order to run, I need YOUR help! My goal is to raise $500-- piece of cake, right?! Even after just a few short weeks of working at LLS, I am constantly reminded why we need to fund research and how much YOUR support means to those battling.

Here are some quick facts about the amazing work LLS does everyday:

• There are an estimated 274,930 people living with, or in remission from, leukemia in the US.
• LLS has awarded more than $750 million in research funding for all blood cancers. LLS funded research has helped advance molecularly targeted treatments that can selectively kill blood cancer cells versus normal cells. Many of these new treatments benefit not only blood cancer patients, but also patients with other diseases.
• LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.
