Racing for a cure!
Apr 15, 2013
Why did I sign up for this challenge??
My coworker and friend, Catalina came to me with the suggestion that I take part in the Aguaphor New York City Triathlon 2013. I was a bit hesitant for the following reasons:
1- I don't know how to swim.
2- I fell off a bike at age 16 and have not gotten on one since.
3- Running is not my thing unless it is on a treadmill.
Thank God for the wonderful coaches at Team in Training for being so patient in training me for this upcoming event.
I said to myself I am going to do this!!
In order for me to do this and be passionate about it I must meet the Leukemia and Lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease and Myeloma patients and their families . I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to volunteer at Hope Lodge American Cancer Society; a facility that offers lodging for cancer patient in treatment.
After putting faces to the patients battling this disease, it has become more than just a race for me. It is a race to save lives and find a cure. With your funding and me racing we can make a difference. So please donate and help save lives.
