Just one week to go!
Jul 01, 2012 by Meridith Lampert
Sunday July 8th is D-Day. I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Haven't made it to all the group training sessions, but am proud to say I've gotten most of the training distances in some way or another. I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me!
This has been the challenge of a lifetime so far. When I say that I realize how ridiculous it sounds next to someone battling cancer, or next to someone who has lost a loved one, especially a child, spouse or parent. I can do this!!!
Have raised $6,664 so far to help fight blood cancers ... my friends, family, and colleagues have been beyond generous and I am so very grateful.
With one week left, my goal is to reach $7,000+. Please help if you can!
So far, so good

Training has just started up this week and I'm surviving. Am finding it harder to make it out to the practices than to actually do them. Once I'm there, I can do the distances, for running that is. Bike and swim are another story,..putting off beginning those off until next week. Need to find my swimsuit and oh yeah, Lyon has to get me a bike!
I'm so very grateful to everyone who's donated and lended their support in other ways. It really helps to know I've got family and friends cheering me on. Thank you!

Whoa, can't believe I actually signed up for this Team In Training thing! It will be my first endurance event - an almost 1 mile swim + 26 miles bike + 6.2 mile run.
Now comes the 4 months of training (gulp!) so that I don’t keel over at the finish line. It's all for an excellent cause - the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and am doing it along with a really wonderful and supportive team, my Conde Nast colleagues.
Am helping raise funds to find cures and better treatments for Leukemia and other blood cancers. Please consider making a donation, big or small. Donations of all sizes will be greatly appreciated.
I’ll be participating in honor of Tom Auth, a dear friend of Lyon's who is battling Leukemia. I hope this will bring hope in some small way.
Thanks everyone for your support!
