Racing to Save Lives
Welcome
to my Team In Training home page.
Last year I did something crazy: I swam a mile in the Hudson River, biked 25 miles on the West Side Highway in NYC and ran 6.2 miles in Central Park, all in less than 4.5 hours and ALL FOR CHARITY!
And if that wasn't nuts enough, I signed up to do it again! I'm one of the mentors for the Team in Training NYC Triathlon team. My experience last year was so amazing, and life changing, that I couldn't wait to get more involved!
Last year, I competed in honor of my mom Pam, who is a survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. This year, I am doing this in honor of, and in memory of, or in support of everyone whose life is touched by blood cancer. This is for my Mom, and Naomi's dad Donald, who lost his 13 year battle in 2007, for Henry's dad who was diagnosed with Leukemia last year, for JB's childhood friend, who passed away from Leukemia at age 9, and for Jessica's mom, who is bravely fighting NHL as I type this. Cancer touches almost everyone's life. And it doesn't have to.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
Your donations will be put to great use:
$1,000 Will help The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fund a researcher to find a cure.
$500 Will provide patient aid to a person with leukemia or a related
cancer for a year.
$100 Will provide a patient with transportation cost associated with
traveling from home to the cancer center.
$75 Will provide bone morrow typing for a family member of a patient
with leukemia.
$50 Will register one person to be a bone marrow donor.
$25 Will pay for the cost of a patient's chemotherapy drug prescription co-pay.
$ Any donation will help continue the research needed to find a cure.
