WELCOME TO TEAM ROBEL FUNDRAISING PAGE !
Our dear family and friends!
We, John and Yanni Robel, are going to go to the distance with Marine Corp Marathons (October 25, 2015) and New York Marathon (November 1, 2015) while raising money for the cure along the way. Yes, that is back to back weekend marathons!!
Many of you were so generously donated via Yanni's previous fundraising effort and for that, we want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and we are going to shamelessly ask for your donation again. Why? Because not only you are helping us, you are the rest of the blood cancer survivors hope. You are also helping give the families of the survivors tremendous support because Leukemia & Lymphoma Society offered incredible support to both the a patient AND their family and because we really want to be part of the amazing effort to put blood cancer to an end.
Since Yanni started running almost 5 years ago, she completed 8 marathons and 21 half marathons and put thousands of miles totals between her training and races and raised significant amount of money for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thanks to many of you who were supporting her on this effort. John ran/walked alongside her during her training and been part of her support crew until last year and he decided to join the fun and did the races alongside of Yanni. John completed 2 marathons and 4 half marathons since summer 2014. This will be John's first official Team in Training event!
However, we are not done. We want to do it again this year because we are so close for the cure.
Because life is so short, she is being reminded every day to live her life to the fullest, dream big and welcome any challenge ahead of her. She will not quit, and we will keep on fighting and running and be normal.
Would you help us again? Would you run/walk alongside of us for this race for cure? Someday IS today. We are so very close!
Why we are running
Why do we run so many races? The answer is very simple. Because we can. Because we are able.
Yanni is one of the lucky person who can have some new normalcy in life because of donation from people like you have made to fund research and development to improve a quality of life and cure. We have lost friends, and watched a few of them suffer. We felt helpless and often wondered if I could done more to help than what we already did.
This event allows us to do something, and it will allow YOU to do something as well. Remember all those times you asked us if there's anything you can do for us?
This is one of those.
We will continue to run for those who cannot, and for Yanni, who is incredibly lucky and blessed to be able to run. We are no longer take things for granted. The ability to lace up your shoes and go out for a walk or run are so simple, and yet powerful.
Our goal on each of this race is remain the same. To finish upright AND smiling.
We know we can do it. We know we will do great.
What is Team in Training
TNT's endurance training program whose goal is to support, through fundraising and advocacy, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to improve the quality of life for patients with leukemia and related blood cancers to aid in search for a cure, to improve public and professional education, along with advocacy and community service.
We are so thrilled to be participating in this wonderful event, but as is true with so many things that are really worth doing, this can't be a solo effort. We need your support not only to raise the $10,000 donation but also to muster up the internal strength we know we will need to meet the physical and emotional challenge that lie ahead.
Please express your support in one or more of the following ways:
Donate online to my online fundraising here
Send a tax-deductible donation made out to LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY to me. Please email us directly, and I'll give you our address to send the check to or do a donation online via our personal fundraising page here
Help us spread the word about what I'm doing. Mention the Team In Training to 3 friends and ask if they'd be interested in sponsoring us? wait, make that 5 friends!
Many companies match their employees charitable giving, if you decided to support me and do a donation, please ask your human resources about it and ask them to match your gift!
Send us your inspirational and encouraging thoughts, poems, jokes, stories, etc. via email at us@robel.net Oh I could use a lot of prayer to for the success of this run and continuous health for Yanni as well!
Follow our training progress at http://yannirobel.com/running and cheer us via twitter as we train. You can follow us on twitter at @YanniRobel and @JohnRobel
Thank you for considering a donation to this worthy cause and for supporting a cause that we believe in and being a part of saving life. We personally thank YOU.
Much love,
John and Yanni
