WELCOME TO MY TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE!
My name is Meredith, and I am 22 years old. Here's my story.
This is my first time running a full marathon, and this is my first time KNITTING a full marathon. I have been running since high school, when I could barely finish a 5k, much to the horror of my cross country coach. Since then, I have increased my mileage and have finished 3 half marathons (how do you like me now?)!
So, where does the knitting come in, you ask? In March, I began interning at a startup called We Are Knitters that sells DIY knitting kits and supplies. When we found out that there was another marathon knitter who would be running the marathon, I jokingly said "I'll do it." Within a week I was taking a wool yarn ball with me on my morning runs (despite the 80 degree heat at 7am, yes I did get some strange looks), and planning out a 16-week marathon training schedule.
With We Are Knitters as my sponsor, I am ready to tackle the NYC Marathon, and I couldn't be more thrilled to be running and knitting for such a great cause. I am excited to be a part of the Team in Training group, and as part of this team I am raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. I appreciate every single donation, no matter the size!
Your donation will help fund treatments that save lives every day; like immnuotherapies that use a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.
