DJ My Marathon!

Hi everyone!
While I'm selling miles again this year (donate $30 and pick a mile - I'll be sending out tweets during the marathon for each sponsored mile), I'm also asking you to DJ My Marathon!
For a donation of $30 you can also request/dedicate a song that will go on my marathon playlist that I'll be listening to as I run through the 5 boroughs of New York City on November 6, 2011, just 65 days away! I'll also be tweeting the songs and dedications the day of the marathon, as well as publishing the final marathon playlist on Spotify for people all over the world to enjoy too!
If I hit my goal of 11 minutes per mile, it will approximately take me 288 minutes to reach the finish line. That means I need about 82 songs to make it there! That's a lot of music!
So please make a donation, request or dedicate a song, and help me reach the finish line!

Training Update #1
Jul 13, 2011 by Michelle Deforest

Hi everyone!
As I settle into the groove of training, it's time to get to work fundraising. I'm in the process of brainingstorming some fun ideas, and I'll be sure to update this page as I think of new ideas :)
Training is going pretty well! This past Sunday I was in Montauk, and I managed to get in a 7 mile run despite the heat and the lure of the beach :) While I could have combined the two, I thought it was best not to over do it ;)
I ran up East Lake Drive from Ditch Plains and back. My friend, and fellow runner, Toby was with me, but alas I was slower then him (he has longer legs! and is just faster :), so the majority of the run was on my own. Even so, it was a fantastic run, and I maintained my (snail-like) goal pace of 12 minute miles for my long run. My goal is to run the marathon in 4:48, which is at an 11 minute mile pace, so this was good pace to do this run at for me.

I'm Racing to Save Lives
Hi everyone!! Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I'm training to run the NYC Marathon for the first time as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I'm selling miles and body parts in exchange for donations :) See below for details!
Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
Miles:
$25 get you a mile. Please specify where you'd like me to link to, or if you have a dedication in honor or in memory of someone special. Thanks!
