This is my 3rd season with Team in Training, and I know it will be the best yet. After completing the Nashville Country Music Marathon (April '09) and the Phoenix Rock and Roll Marathon (January '10) I am extremely excited to get the opportunity not only to run the New York City Marathon but to mentor again for TNT.
This season I am running in honor of two of my mother's friends. Helene Orefice and Nancy Rowe. In 2004, Helene was diagnosed with malignant melanoma, fortunately it was very minor and is now living cancer free! Nancy just recently found out she has been diagnosed with skin cancer. I am honored to be running for both these remarkable women!
I want to thank everyone who donated to me my last 2 seasons!! I am so thankful for every single donation, whether it is $100 or even just $5. But I know, I can raise the bar this year and raise more than ever for LLS.
Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress throughout training. Thanks for your support!
Love,
Lauren

Successfully finished 16 miles in the hot humid weather... Very difficult run but did it! Started at Urban Athletics in the financial district, ran over the Brooklyn Bridge then back over the Manhatten Bridge, then ran to Park Avenue (Summer Streets) all the way to 59th street, cut over to Columbus Circle, ran the lower loop in Central Park (1.7 miles) then continued to the West Side Highway where I ran all the way back to Urban Athletics. 16 miles in total! whew... getting a little nervous about my 18 mile run in New Jersey next weekend...
