Running for a Cure
That's me on the right, with my friend Blaine near mile 8.
In September 2009, I was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia.
During the course of my five days in the hospital, I had a conversation with my brother. He asked me how I was doing. I told him I was going to be fine. The way I saw it, Lance Armstrong beat cancer and in the 2006 New York City Marathon, I beat Lance Armstrong. Therefore, I should have no problem beating cancer.
While this diagnosis has presented its own unique set of challanges, it hasn't slowed me down.
This year I will be participating in the New York City Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. I'm hoping to improve upon my previous best of 2 hours, 54 minutes.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. We need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
Thanks for your support!
