Team in Training:
My Excuse to Wear Purple Spandex.
The only excuse for a man to wear purple spandex is if he has super powers and he fights crime. The only exception to that rule is to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society raises funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. Last summer, many of you helped me raise over $3,000 for Team in Training, as I completed the 2007 New York City Triathlon.
In 2007, I swam in the polluted Hudson River. This fall, I will run through some of the worst neighborhoods in NYC wearing short-shorts and a purple spandex tank top, running the 2008 ING New York City Marathon.
The pain that I will endure on race day is nothing compared to the suffering of those with blood cancers. Think about how rotten you feel when you have too much booze in your blood. The people I am racing for have cancer in their blood. Please make a donation to help them beat cancer and help me cross the finish line.
If 80 people donate $25, I can reach my goal of $2,000 and be able to race. You can donate as little as $1. Every little bit helps. It is good karma and a nice tax write off.
