Racing to Save Lives
Hi everyone and welcome
to my Team In Training home page.
I'm currently training to
participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In
Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin
lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I am completing this event in honor of Caroline Clark, someone who touched my heart deeply and made me appreciate life so much more. I did not know Caroline for long nor did we become best friends. However, in the short time I knew Caroline she impacted my life greatly. I saw her not only as a woman and a friend, but also as a fighter, that did not let Leukemia stop her from trying to fulfill her dreams. Her presence could fill an empty room, her smiles were contagious and her story inspired everyone that heard it . On February 5th , 2005 Caroline Clark died , she fought until the end, she tried until the end.Athough she is now gone, her memory will forever live in the hearts of all of those who knew her.
5 years later I have the great oppotunity of making a difference,to try to help those that like Caroline are fighting this debilitating desease and fighting to survive. It is with all of these people in mind children, women, men and with Caroline that I train hard each day and night in hopes of crossing the
ultimate finish line - a cure!
