Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event (NJ Triathlon) on May 8, 2010 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I am completing this event in honor of all the individuals who lost their strong battle against cancer and for those who are currently battling blood cancers. I'm specifically doing this in memory of my dad Juan Garcia (died of pancreatic cancer), Deon's granny Violet Maxwell (died of breast cancer), Carolyn Salaski (my friend Bhanu's friend mother), and now little Kate Davis (7 years old) who's battling cancer.

Little Kate enjoys re ading, drawing, ballet, ice skating, baking, and Webkins. When asked what advice she will give someone after being affected by cancer - she replied "Be grateful for all the stuff you have. Now more than ever I try to find the fun in every day. Mommy says we see life like the glass is half full. Not half empty!". These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! Little Kate is my inspiration to endure the rigorous training I'm going through.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. While on the other hand, I am working on a demanding and challenging training program to complete the triathlon for the many individuals with this disease.

I would like to reach my fundraising goal and I need your help to achieve this accomplishment. I now have extended time to meet my goal and I need 7 people to donate at least $25 - Please find somewhere in your heart to donate for an important cause and for me to compete at the race. After all I have been running weekly outside in the cold, waking up at 7AM on Saturday mornings, and training everyday after work.
