Racing to Save Lives

to my Team In Training home page.

Two summers ago I fulfilled a goal of mine and completed an Olympic Distance triathlon. Even better I was able to raise a lot of money for a very good cause: a cure for cancer. I did that race in memory of my grandfather who lost his battle.

Here I am doing it again. Why? I'd like to say just because it's a good thing, which it is. Unfortunately I can't say that. Just recently my step-father was diagnosed with cancer. I can't fight his battle for him, so I'm doing the next best thing and doing whatever I can to help him and others with theirs.

I encourage every one visiting this site to do the same. If you can make a donation it would be greatly appreciated. If you can't donate but have ideas for fundraisers, or just want to spread the word for me, every little bit helps. If you want to do a race of your own drop me an email and I'll give you the info. If you're willing to donate platelets to help patients during chemo, I can give you info on that as well. There is a lot we can do to help these courageous people fight and beat this horrible disease.
