I am happy to be back to training for the NIke Women's Half Marathon in Washington DC.
This race will take place on April 28. I was de railed by my stress fracture but I am BACK.
Now I need you to help me meet my fundraising goal of 2 700.00.
The deadline is April 10 and all the money goes to life saving research to fight blood cancer.
Personally, I have gotten so much from the coaches at team in training, that I am paying for my own transportation and hotel in Washington DC and making a persona donation of 500.00. I look at this as an investment in personal training. I want every dollar to go to the doctors and researchers so that they can fight these diseases.
Lets do this together, I will run and you will donate.
Deal?
Thanks,
Phyllis
Its really tough not running but its not as tough as my teammates running their first 5K trial in 5 degree weather this week. I am so proud of them and so Jealous.
I am in the boot for two more weeks so I will keep doing what I can to cheer them on and fundraise to fight blood cancer.
So far the fill the boot campaign is going well, but we have a way to go.
Lets fill that boot by Feb 18 when the boot comes off!
So this happened. I have a stress fracture in my right foot and I am out of the running game for three weeks. One week down and two to go. Luckily, I have two half marathons under my belt and I am confident that I can get the training done to successfully finish the race in April !
In the meantime I am biking and doing lots of upper body workouts.
Today I am launching the FILL THE BOOT campaign.
Help me spend these non running days fulfilling y fundraising goal for the leukemia and lymphoma society!
Donate what you can today and you can always donate more later on.
Please anything can make a difference to the doctors and researchers that are working life saving medicine.
Hello!
I have been working out with the Team in Training coaches in Central Park over the last two weeks and its really paying off.
They have been working with me on my running form and on my pace. Both are really improving.
We start each practice session with a mission moment. Someone from the group shares a personal connection they have with LLS and it really puts me in the right mind set for a run.
I am no longer cold or tired or complaining after a long day.... I am proud to run with this team.
Here are a couple of shots of me from Central Park. I am sorry they are only headshots. :)
Thank you all for visiting my page and donating what you can. It does make a difference.

This group is amazing and very motivatied. It was a great run and I am looking forward to the season.
Many of my teammates have lost loved ones to blood cancers and and every dollar donated will go to finding a sure for this disease.
Please help me meet my first goal of 500.00 by New Years Eve by donating TODAY.
Thanks and I will keep you updated.
