Racing to Save Lives

Welcome again to my Team In Training home page.

UPDATE: I finished the Vermont 100 mile endurance run in 25:18:35. Here is my blog recap of the race tntultracoachmike.blogspot.com

Next up, Nike Women's San Fran Marathon followed by the NYC Marathon.

This is fundraising season #10 for me! So it's a special one. It's also going to be the season where I do my craziest event to date! We all thought an Ironman was nuts. After doing four of those, it was not so bad. Then I took on a 65 mile race (run) in the Blueridge mountains of Virginia that gained and lost 16,000 feet of elevation over the course of the race. Now, on July 16th, I will attempt to run my first 100 mile race in Vermont. It is the well known (at least to those that know) Vermont 100. http://www.vermont100.com/ I will then maybe speed up and try to run a fast Nike Women's (yes, men can do it if they raise funds for Team in Training!) Marathon in October and then the NYC Marathon in November. I'll probably do some other fun runs or races along the way. And once again, I will be helping to coach our Manhattan runners this season to accomplish their goals of running a half or full marathon!

But the real purpose behind my insanity is to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I have met hundreds of incredible people the last 8 years with Team in Training and whether they knew someone afflicted with blood cancer or any cancer, they were all connected by the end of the season by each other. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
