Laura's Running a Half Marathon!
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
Yes, you read that right...I'm training to run in the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco on October 18, 2009 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training in honor of my incredible and brave friend, Amanda. (UPDATE: Amanda is doing amazingly well...she just finished her last chemo treatment and is about to start radiation. She is kicking cancer's butt and is really looking forward to moving back to NYC; we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! yay TEAM AMANDA!!)
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am honored to be part of such a mission. This marathon is going to be a huge test of my strength and endurance, and I need your support to cross the finish line!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission - I've already raised almost $6,600 and want to raise as much as possible before the marathon to help find a cure for cancer.
I hope you will visit my web site often - I will be posting updates on my running progress and my experiences while training for this marathon.
