to my Team In Training home page.

As many of you know, I started running about two years ago in an endeavor to change my lifestyle for the better. Though it took a lot of hard work, I eventually went from being a couch potato to an athlete and surpassed any expectations I ever had for myself when I completed my first half marathon this past May, Boston's Run To Remember.

Currently, I'm training to participate in my first marathon - the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. I'm training for this endurance event as a member of The Leukemia &

Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In

Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin

lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in

honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are

the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the

ultimate finish line - a cure!

I should also note that I have decided to do something called Sponsor-A-Mile where you guys will pledge money towards a specific mile of my race and in return I will take a picture at every mile and you will get the picture that corresponds to your mile. The price per mile increases as the mileage goes up because the picture you get at mile 26 will be much better blackmail material than the one at mile 2. Here is a breakdown of how much the mileage is going for:

Mile 1 = 10, Mile 2 = 10, Mile 3 = 20, Mile 4 = 20, Miles 5 and 6 = 25, Mile 7 = 35, Mile 8 = 40, Mile 9 = 45, Miles 10-15 = 50, Miles 16-19 = 55, Miles 20 and 21 = 60, Mile 22 = 75, Miles 23 and 24 = 80, Mile 25 = 90, and Mile 26 = 100.

I will update this page as the miles get taken by your donations. Thanks a lot and I will keep all of you posted on my progress. I just finished an 11.5 mile run this past weekend!
