Cycling to Save Lives
Would you believe that I am going to cycle 100 miles in one day??? Well, surprise, surprise, it's actually true! On May 17th in Montauck, New York, I'm going to finish every last mile, but I can't do it without your help.
Let me introduce you to the source of my inspiration. Her name is Charlotte Council; she is a long time family friend and is a survivor of both breast (in remission) and bladder (NAD - no evidence of disease) cancer. She is my Honored Teammate and the person who will keep me going mentally and physically during the toughest parts of training and the race.
As a participant in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program, I am preparing to participate in an endurance event, like a triathlon or marathon, as a way to raise money for more than 110,000 people in the U.S. who will be diagnosed with some form of blood cancer this year alone. The money raised will be used for blood cancer research and patient assistance programs. In fact, since 1949, the Society has provided more than $350 million in research.
I can't do any of this however, with out YOU my sponsors. Please help me reach my goal of raising $2500 for this worthy cause.
Any and all donations are not only greatly appreciated, but are 100% tax-deductible.
Please feel free to share this information with any other friends and family who might be interested in the cause.
Your support means more to me than you'll ever know.
P.S. Special thanks to my parents, Elaine Washington, Gretchen Kelly, Ella Catron, Brooke Miller who have made a contribution.
