This past weekend we did Hill Repeats for our workout at Moms In Training. Just the thought of it seemed to keep people away as there were only 4 of us out on Sunday.  I had the extra benefit of pushing Hamilton up and down the hills. I am sure race day is going to be much easier without the stroller.

As a mother, I hope never to hear the words “your child has cancer” come out of our doctor’s mouth

Unfortunately, this past May, our cousin, Amy and her husband Kenny, heard those crushing words as their fifteen year old son, Harry, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer - blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm.  It is a hybrid of a lymphoma which transforms into a leukemia and is treated as acute leukemia.

Since his diagnosis, Harry has undergone numerous emotionally and physically taxing treatments. Though he is going through so much, he is staying strong! You can follow Harry's progress on this blog, http://malignanthumour.blogspot.com/

As a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Moms In Training program, I’ve teamed up with thousands of moms across the country, united in the fight against cancer. I am raising funds to benefit LLS while training for a 4-mile race in honor of Harry. Since this fight is very important to our family, my husband, Fredric, will also be running the 4-mile race. As most of you know I am in the runner in the family, so while I will be challenged by the fundraising efforts, Fredric will be challenged by the training! I have set my fundraising goal at $1800!
