Welcome to my Moms In Training home page.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a 10K run (or walk as I may end up doing) as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
No mother should watch her child suffer. Lucy has been watching her own personal superhero, Alex, fight Leukemia with various chemo treatments, surgeries, living in and out of hospital, and so much more. Alex doesn't know what it is to go to the supermarket, or on a subway. Until now, Alex hasn't been able to enjoy going to a restaurant, playdates or playgoroups with other children, or even something as simple as a mommy and me class. Every step of the way, Lucy has comforted her daughter through painful treatments, and sleepless nights. Lucy does it all becuase she knows that Alex will beat this and will grow up in spite of the tough start that she has had in life. Lucy has chronicled her battle on alexfightsleukemia.com.
Alex (and others like Alex) is the reason that I have grown fond of LLS, and the reason that I will be participating in my 3rd race in June. But I can't do it alone. Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
Because no mother should ever watch their child suffer. Together, we can make a difference.

"Thanks to the new treatments that are being developed to cure these diseases, someone very important to me recently beat Leukemia -- in her mid sixties! Despite very slim odds of survival, she underwent a revolutionary procedure. It was a long, painful road to recovery, but her incredible strength and will power, combined with her world class physicians, got her to the finish line. It just goes to show that anything is beatable, and we must never give up."
