Lara's Lake Placid Half Marathon Fundraising Page

I completed my first half marathon - the 2011 ING Miami Half Marathon - with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training on January 30 (you can read about it here). It was such an amazing experience that I immediately signed up for more!! The Lake Placid Half Marathon is on June 12, and I couldn't imagine training with any other group.


All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, and myeloma from taking more lives. I run for my friend Rachel, who's beloved grandfather and "kindred spirit" died of leukemia last year; for my coach Christie, whose father continues to fight the good fight; and for all of my "honored teammates" who inspire me every week with their courage in the face of their struggles with cancer and their "do something" spirit in competing in countless endurance events with Team in Training.
