My training gets off to a festive start with a 2.5 mile jingle jog in Astoria Park in spring-like weather. The temperature was somewhere around 55 degrees at 9AM. Usually, it's about 20 degrees colder.
After a few weeks of not being able to do much more than a mile due to some respiratory issues, I managed to do two full loops around the park, and then some, for a total of 5K in the morning, and almost 6 miles by the end of the day. Watch out world, I am BACK in ACTION!!! (And looking mighty festive, too, if I do say so myself:-)
If you would like to make a tax-deductible year-end contribution to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in support of my efforts, you may do so here.
After a much-needed rest from long distance race walking, I'm BACK!!!
This year, my goal is to raise at least $1,700.00 and race-walk the New York City Half Marathon. Who knows??? I may even attempt to run-walk the 13.1 miles.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
