I have set a goal for 2012 to complete the New York City Half Marathon on the 18 March.
As part of this goal I am training with a team of other New Yorkers under the amazing guidance and support from The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team in Training. So not only will I be running the Half Marathon, but also raising money to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma.
I CAN'T do this alone and need your support... I am looking to raise at least $1600 for the Leukemia and Lymphona Society and am asking for your kind donation (no amount is too small) for this great cause.
I will be updating this page with highlights of my progress so stay tuned...
For now, here is a photo of me out for a run with my sister Nadia. We ran across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and around Sydney Harbour.... a nice change from the cold streets of New York!

Sunday 29 January
I am now a mere 6 WEEKS away from the big day and have run more in the last couple of months than I have in my whole life! And i'm loving it! Training with a team of motivating and inspiring people has made this journey so much easier.
I have to be honest though, I am more nervous about raising enough money than I am about running the race... so if you haven't already, please consider sponsoring me. No amount is too small.
To those of you who already have made a donation THANK YOU so much... you have inspired me to keep focused!
This photo was taken yesterday in Central Park after an 8 mile (13km) run in New York... slightly colder than sunny Sydney, but much milder than the snow we ran in the previous week.

The countdown is on... in less than three weeks I will be finally running the New York City Half Marathon. Wow! Preparing for the race has been filled with so many emotions but I know I will look back on this time as one of the most memorable times in my life.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me financially and emotionally... there are times when it's hard to keep going, but knowing that I have the encouragement and support of so many people is amazing. Thank you!!!
The weekend before last I ran my longest run, 12 miles (almost 20kms) which included a run over both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.
