Travis and Rachel are running a marathon!!

We are trainging with the Brooklyn Team in Training for the Marine Corps Marathon in DC on October 30th. We have already started training and we have both run four Half Marathons already this year!

We are also raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Our goal is to cure cancer! Want to help? Thank you!! Your support means so much as we work to reach our goals and any donation amount is greatly appreciated.

This will be Travis' first marathon and it is his first time training with TNT. He is keeping track of his experience on his My First Marathon blog. I am helping him with his fundraising and our goal is to raise over $5000! A big goal! Help us get there?

As members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training we are raising funds to help find cures and more effective treatment for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. As a team, we can accomplish great things towards cures for blood cancers!

When the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was founded in 1949, a blood cancer diagnosis was almost always fatal. Thanks in part to innovative research funded by LLS, survival rates for many blood cancers are now more than 90%. With the help of major fundraising campaigns, including Team In Training, LLS has awarded more than $750 million in research funding since the first funding in 1954.

5/21/2011 We completed the Brooklyn Half Marathon!! It was hot, but we ran together and had a really fun day.

7/4/2011 - That is Travis on the Fourth of July when we ran from Penn Station home to Brooklyn for our long run training day. He is posing on the West Side Highway and the Manhattan Bridge.

7/30/2011 - We ran the Queens Half Marathon. (Above we are seen running past the Unisphere.) Travis got a Personal Record time of 2 hours 11 minutes! Awesome!
