Racing to Save Lives
Hello, friends and welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I trained to participate in the Counrty Music Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives, but we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation (whatever you can afford) to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Every dollar counts! To date, the New York City Team in Training has raised over $267,000. And, nationwide the Country Music Marathon Team in Training participants have raised over $1.5 million!
Here's an example of where your donation goes:
$50 will register 1 person to be a bone marrow donor
$75 will provide bone marrow typing for a family member of a patient with leukemia
$100 will pay for the cost of 4 patients' chemotherapy drug perscription co-payments
$300 will train 25 peer volunteers who can provide emotional support to newly diagnosed patients
$500 will provide patient aid to a person with Leukemia or a related cancer for a year
Thank you for your support!
Yes, I finished and the race is over but you can (and should) still donate. I appreciate all the love and support...now keep the money coming!
Ran the Homecoming Scotland 10k in Central Park today. The weather wasn't very cooperative but I finished despite the rain anyway!
Just 6 more weeks until the big day in Nashville on April 25th!
We got our first winter storm and fresh coat of snow in NYC yesterday...just in time for a White Christmas. Happy Holidays!
This is a photo of Irma, my mentor, and I at the training kick off of today in Central Park. I ran approximately 2.5 miles and it was cold==the temp was a brisk 25 degrees.
