Hi there,

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

I will be running in the Chicago Marathon on October 10th [ finger's crossed]. I hope to have the support of all my family and friends.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.

-A donation of $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about their treatment options.

-A donation of $50 makes possible a Family Support group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.

-A donation of $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.

-A donation of $1,000 makes possible one-on-one conversations with health care specialists who provide patients with information about their disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for their health care team.

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress, training begins 7/1 --- excited!

Thanks for your support!

XoXo,

-Debbie

Sore. It's the day after, I did my first ever marathon yesterday!!!!

The Bronx 1/2. It was AMAZING!!! I did awesome time, less than 3 hrs

and I fet good. I'm addicted. A whole marathon, still have a lot of work ahead of me.

But I'm getting there, step by step.

It's still hot!!

The weather is the least of my issues. I'm doing my first ever organized run this Sunday

while it's only a 1/2 Marathon I am scared shitless. This is my first time, I'm not sure

what to expect from myself, my body or the event. My mentor injured herself,

so I was just assigned a new one, and now I find out my coach is on vacation. This is

looking really good for me. I'm trying to be positive and keep a good attitude but

seriously I'm scared, and nervous!!

Last week was hard. My schedule was all messed up and it really threw me off.

I miss Yoga!!! I need it. Can't wait for tomorrow night. Last week I got to 7 miles. Yay.

Again, feeling it after 3, but got a second wind after 6. This week I'm going to be testing foods, I need to get some energy/ calories on my long runs. Today, I have practice with

everyone else, yay! Still working on speed and endourance, need to shave off more time. Why did I pick Chicago? why why why?!

I'm more than 1/2 there in my fundraising, everyone has been so supportive,

keep it coming!

6 miles = check!! Let's be honest I wanted off at 3.5 but I did it!! I pulled through!!

Granted, I may not be able to move tomorrow. But I'm making headway!

Hurray!!!

4 mile run, followed by a 4 mile and then yoga. The best part was Yoga ;-). I cut my mile down by 3 minutes! Yay!

Last night was intense and yet SO amazing. I was a little discouraged there, I'll be

honest. For a while I too started to doubt myself. But Coach Barb rescued me and now

I have a lean plan that's going to get me to hurry the hell up and make it!

Tonight is Yoga- yay! I live for this stuff now. It's like my little treat. I also started to get some

great inspiration and advice from some other fellow runners on twitter, and it's been great.

The running community is so helpful and warm it really helps the challenge easier.

Happy Birthday to the USA. It's 4th of July. Best American holiday, and I'm up in Lake

George, NY. Amazing. Decided to get in my Sunday running by the beach. HOT! Was

nice to get a chance to see Lake George, and everyone getting ready for the fireworks.

I really thought I would see a bear or atleast a deer in the forest, where there was a

runing track- but no such luck.

Anyways, we're all trying to get in our miles and stay hydrated in these unberable

heatwave. Stay cool!

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Woke up early, on a Sunday, to get a head start and beat the heat. Nopes. Still hot.

4 miles later I was home!! Now I'm stuffing evenvelopes to ask for more donations.

$1,200 is amazing! But we're still far from a cure, and I'm not at my goal yet.

Tonight, I start something new- Yoga. Not really my thing, but I've heard great things

about it, and I'm up for a change and challenge. Stay tuned!

Last night was insane! We left our bags to be wacthed at Cherry Hil in Central Park.

Our team run for the week was the lower loop. Half way through the first loop it started

to rain. By the 2nd lap I was SOAKED/ DRIPPING! Crazy rain! At the end if felt good!

It was great start to a week of training. My phone made it too- barely.
