Welcome to my Team In Training home page. Thanks for stopping by.
As some of you may already know, I'm participating in the Bermuda Triangle Challenge as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team in Training. All of us on Team LLS are in training to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, and myeloma from taking more lives. Our plan is to complete this event in honor of all individuals battling blood cancers and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - finding a cure! We just had our first official training session this morning (10/6) and things couldn't have gone better. Well surf and turf would have been nice at the end.
What's the Triangle Challenge? It consists of three races over the span of a weekend. It's a 1 miler, 10K and a full marathon. This is my first marathon and I intend to finish well. If I don't, I lose my Kenya card. I'm not going to disgrace my people. However, the larger goal is to raise as much money as possible. And, if it will make you give more generously, I will fight any land mammal as chosen by a majority of contributors. So far it's a tie between the Chupacabra and a drunk wombat. Come on, people. Unfortunately there will be no swimming by the black man this year.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Every dollar helps so, please give whatever you can afford. No amount is too small. Don't forget to check with your employer as they may match your donation.
I'll be updating my training progress in the coming weeks so please visit again. Thanks in advance for your support and donation.
