Racing to Save Lives
Hello friends, family, and others. Thank you so much for visiting my Team In Training home page.
I will be training over the next six months to participate in a marathon (26 miles) as a runner for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. The marathon I am running in is on June 20th in Anchorage, Alaska. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I am running in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, many of these people being young children. I am also running in memory of my family's dog, Cody. Cody was diagnosed with lymphoma in November, and he only completed one round of chemo before he left us a week before Christmas. He was only 8 years old. Lymphoma did not show up in any of his tests until it was too late, and he had dropped from 45 lbs to 25lbs. This loss devastated me and my family, and I cannot imagine the pain of families who have children or loved ones with this terrible, terrible cancer.
These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to fund research to find a cure for leukemia and lymphoma. I hope one day that no one has to feel as powerless as my family.
Please make a donation to help support my participation in Team in Training and help advance LLS's mission. I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support and your consideration!
