Riding for a Cure
Those of you who've known me these past few years have heard me go on about biking, running, triathlons, and endurance sports in general. Well, it all started here at Team in Training. I ran my first Triathlon with Team in Training in 2007, and my first Marathon with the Team in 2008.
And now I'm back - because Leukemia and Lymphoma are still affecting millions of lives, and because I want to do something to help. I'm doing this for Jamie. I'm doing it for Debi, and Tina, and for all the people who have had to face this disease. I'm joining Team in Training for America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride - a 100-mile (160 km!) tour of Lake Tahoe that's breathtaking (in every sense of the word!). It won't be easy, as the landscape is very hilly and the saddle is very narrow. Difficult as it may be, however, it pales in comparison to what cancer patients - and their families - go through, and I just want to help.
You can help, too! Your donation - whatever the amount - helps the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fund medical research as well as provide support to patients and their families.
Thanks for your support,
Francisco
PS If the idea of making me work extra hard seems appealing to you, donate on a per-mile-trained basis - I'll make sure I let you know exactly how intensely I'm pedalling!
