Beating Blood Cancer!!!

Yep, I'm doing it again....
Nov 18, 2010

Yeppers--After taking a year off fundraising and racing for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, I'm back and doing it again.

"Why?' you ask??

Very simply--for the cause .... finding a cure for blood cancers.

In the past I have completed triathlons and a century bike rides, raising close to $25,000 in the process. I didn't do it alone; I had help from my friends.....you. And in that time, research has brought us closer to that cure. Survival rates are way up, especially for the children!!

So, I am asking you again to support me and the ongoing research--to be a part of something bigger-- and help find a cure.

For my part, in addition to my monetary donation, I will be pulling on my sneakers and running the Oklahoma City Memorial marathon.

Let me make myself perfectly clear, here....

I don't do 'running'....cycling, yes....running no. So this is a huge stretch for me. Heaven and earth will move as I train these thunder thighs to become sleek pumping pistons that will carry me across the finish line in May.

In the months to come, I will be running more miles than I care to think about. But like finding a cure for cancer, each race begins with a single step....so join me on this journey. Take that first step with me; make a donation that will help stop this deadly disease. You never know whose life you may touch.

In the meantime, I will blog (this could be another word for 'whine) about my adventures pounding the pavement.

Thank you for making the difference~~

Sue
