Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.

Having kids makes you think about how you want them to grow up. For me two of the most important things are generosity and an active healthy lifestyle. The best way to make sure they grow up that way is to live it. For me Team in Training is the perfect blend of an active healthy lifestyle in pursuit of a worthy goal.

I am running the White Rock Marathon in Dallas on December 4th - my first marathon and raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society - also a first for me. LLS performs research services for the future and helps people who are diagnosed now through guides and financial assistance.

Honored Hero: Susan Garrett

The thing I will remember the most about Susan is that when my mother was in the darkest place in her life Susan showed her how to find joy again. They became the best of friends and moved across the country together.

Susan had an intestinal cancer and passed 2010. From the tributes I've seen for Susan, my mother was not alone in the joy Susan shared.

This is the beginning of my little part to help eliminate this disease.
