UPDATE: November 8, 2011
The season officially kicks off this weekend and spring season begins November 19. I am so excited! Since we all want to show our support for GRAYSON...I have ordered some green "gray"celets! For a minimum donation of $5.00 I will mail you 2 TEAM GRAYSON bracelets. Green is Grayson's favorite color! If you donate more then I will gladly send you more.
I will also be emailing everyone who has already donated to ensure they receive them as well. I have child and adult sizes.
Please stay up-to-date on our blog http://baconsforacause.blogspot.com/ because it is much easier to post there!
FIRST POST:
I'm at it again...this time training for Dallas Rock and Roll Half Marathon on March 25. I bet you are saying...a half...hasn't she already done that? Well, yes and no. I've ran several half marathons but never fundraised for TNT with them. In the past 11 years that I've been involved with TNT, I've fundraised for a century ride in 2000, a relay event in 2009, a full marathon in 2010 and now the half marathon. And let's not forget that Will has completed 3 century rides for TNT...his first in 2004 and then two others in 2010! Let's just say we are addicted to TNT and passionate about helping find a cure.
So what inspired me to fundraise again? A child named Grayson. For me it is always about a child. Grayson is my honored hero this season and he is a fighter. So while he is battling this awful disease...I will be running in his honor so he knows he isn't alone in this fight. Grayson was in the kindergarten class next to my daughter and that is how I learned about him and his recent diagnosis with leukemia. Children are little warriors when it comes to battling cancer and their parents...well they are too because a parent will do anything for their child. I can't read Grayson's blog and see him mom without tears flowing. That was my brother and sister-in-law 17 years ago...and it could be me...or anyone reading this. Grayson has a long journey ahead of him with close to 3 years of treatment. That is why we have to find a cure.

Our mission with Team in Training is clear...find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers! But to accomplish that mission, I need your help and support. Help me find a cure and help me improve the quality of life for children like Grayson. Help me show his parents that they are not in this fight alone!
No donation is too small...every $1 helps. Make a $5.00 donation in honor of Grayson battling cancer at the age of 5! Or make a $13 donation in honor of me running 13.1 miles! Any amount is appreciated.
Please keep up with my training on our family blog at:
