Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in the San Diego half marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Team In Training was founded to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, but particularly two friends who have been struck by these diseases and are now still in remission. Alexis has had 11 years free from Hodgkin lymphoma and Maggie is 3 1/2 years in remission from acute myeloid leukemia. Their diagnoses were unexpected, but their recovery is a testament to the medical staff and researchers who are every day looking for a cause, treatments, and maybe a cure for blood cancers.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. The money donated goes to research, advocacy, education, and family support. Medical advancements learned from hematologic cancers can also be applied to every other type of cancer.
