Running to Save Lives

I am training to run my third marathon, the Marathon de Paris on April 11th, 2010 in Paris France. I am not just training to run a marathon; I'm running to save lives. As a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training, I am raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. Specifically, I'm completing this event in honor of my college friend Isaac, who has recently been diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). Isaac and others like him battling these cancers are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

For the next 5 months, I will train 6 days a week with my team members and on April 11th, 2010 I will run the Marathon de Paris. I won't be able to train for this event alone, and I would be honored if you would help me. My goal is to raise $6200. No donation is too small! Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.

Update 4/13 - We did it! Thank You everyone! With your support and generosity we were able to meet my goal of $6200!!

Update 4/05 - less than a week away and leaving for Paris very soon! Thank You everyone! I am at 77% of my goal and continue to receive donations everyday!!

Update 3/14 - 27 days away and getting really excited! I was sidelined for 2 weeks with the worst sinus infection, but have recovered and bursting with energy and ready to run! Are you my Facebook friend? I have created a group on FB for this cause, you should join!

Update 2/10 - Paris is booked! Happy-excited and nervous-excited:) I am completely committed to this cause, this race and this adventure. Mile 20 won't be so bad when I am at the Eiffel Tower...59 Days to go!

Update 2/03 - I am a cross-training fool! Moving is so much work! But it's still exercise:) Have nearly raised $1600 and that makes my heart so happy, Thank You everyone for your support and generosity!!

Update 1/25 - Another Raffle opportunity to raise money for LLS! My mom has donated a brand new necklace from Tiffany & Co. Valued at $300!! Same as SWA Raffle, drawing will be on April 20th, 2010 and each entry is $10.00.

Update 1/20 - I am still here! And still running and fundraising! Holidays, traveling and being sick has not stopped me! I need to make 25% by Feb 10th to continue on, so tell everyone you know!

Update 11/21 - Week 3 complete, hooray! Just under 11 miles this week. Miles (my dog) did the long run with me on Sat, he did so good! Almost to $200 for fundraising, very cool!

Update 11/14 - Week 2 complete with just under 8 miles logged. The new shoes are fabulous, however, I have had some other ailments to deal with, but no signs of stopping! Ran a 5k at SMU Sat morning, BEAUTIFUL day in Dallas, perfect running weather! I have cards for Troops, all proceeds go to LLS!

Update 11/07 - Week 1 training complete with just under 9 miles logged. Need to get new shoes, two words...Shin Splints!
